Did you know there are 700 island in Bahamas? I did NOT! I am not sure if you can travel all of these islands but I’m pretty sure that you can visit at least 17 of them. See the picture in below.

First of all, I’d like to say it is pretty easy to Get to nassau/paradise Island from Fort Lauderdale; 38 minutes! That’s also where I took my flight. This is an easy getaway, A very different Geographical region for the people who lives in Miami.

Before arriving you will need a negative Covid-19 Test and Travel Health Visa. You can find the travel Visa information here; https://www.bahamas.com/travelupdates, which costs $40. You can also get that health visa 1 day before your arrival because it’ll ask about your Covid-19 Test result too. Once you’re done with everything, don’t forget to download your visa!

Additionally, I know that you can get free Covid-19 Test before your departure from Bahamas to your home with your Travel Visa. I didn’t know that before I got my appointment, but the people who were in the hostel actually did that. They said they went to hospital nearby to Paradise Island but I’m sure you can find other ones too if you search or just simply ask. I didn’t have that time and already paid for the appointment so I missed my chance.

You have 2 options when you arrive to Nassau. You can get a taxi from the airport or you will have to walk for 8 minutes to the main road and take the bus -well actually a minibus called a Jitney.

I took a taxi to go into town because also I found a person that ı was able to share the price (which was $42 from airport bu Paradise Island). When I want back to the airport, I took the bus 12A; if you want to travel all the way long beach side, you can just take the number 10.

ıf you want to learn more about bus routes, you can google “Official Bus Routes Bahamas”.

But you will definitely need cash, especially if you’re gonna take jitneys, you need the exact change.

You can pay everything with the US Dollar and some places accept credit cards; like restaurants and places you would call fancy!

Don’t be afraid to hop on a wrong

bus because drivers are really

helpful. You will see this yellow

colored station for waiting the

Jitney; but if you don’t see one of

them where you are, it’s ok to just

waving because they will stop

wherever you are. Same with when

you want to get off too.
